Breakfast is known to be the most important meal of the day, but often times we don’t remember to wake up with enough time to have it. Having breakfast sets your meal pattern for the day. When you skip breakfast you tend to give into cravings more easily, and eat more than you actually need to. I have always struggled to make time for breakfast because I am always rushing in the mornings, but I realized that it was contributing to my rapid weight gain, and unhealthy eating habits. So, I had to think of some ideas to save time, and have breakfast in the morning. I’ll share a few with you.
Scrambled Eggs and Toast
The night before chop some basil, tomatoes, mushrooms, bell peppers and grate some of your favorite cheese. Combine those ingredients with a few eggs, depending on how many servings you would like. Mix everything together, and finish with salt and pepper. Pour the mixture into a container, preferably glass, and cover it.
Then, combine a few tablespoons of butter with cinnamon, and honey. When the mixture is smooth apply it to your bread, and wrap each piece with plastic wrap.
In the morning scramble the eggs, place the bread in the oven, or toaster oven, and you’re ready to eat, or grab and go.
If you want bacon on the side, cook it the night before, and add it to the oven with your toast in the morning.
- 1 banana
- 1/2 cup of blueberries
- a few almonds or walnuts
- 5 strawberries
- 2 tablespoons of oatmeal and ground flax seeds
- 2 tablespoons of Greek yougurt
- 1 to 2 cups of milk
Blend the ingredients together, and get your shake on. Don’t forget ” the possibilities are endless.” So, feel free to add, or suntract ingredients I used. You may create something even more amazing, but if you do, don’t forget to share it with me.
Oatmeal On Wheels
Cook your favorite brand of oatmeal. Then, add strawberries, blueberries, almonds, and 2 tablespoons of honey. Finally, add everything to a container. In the morning warm the oat meal, and the toppings. Then, add everything to a blender, and blend until it is smooth. Pour the oatmeal into a thermos, and hit the road.
Chop 3 large potatoes, 1/2 of a red bell pepper, and 1/2 of an onion. Then, chop some bacon into small pieces, and mix the chopped ingredients together. Finally, add some black pepper, and salt. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap. In the morning put a few table spoons of butter in a pan, and add the ingredients to the pan.
Let the potatoes and bacon brown. Then, cover the pan and let everything cook until the potatoes are tender. Once they are tender, add an egg or two, and mix the egg in the pan. When the egg or eggs are cooked, pour everything into a bowl, or container, and add cheese. Parmesan cheese, cheddar, or pepper jack, go well with this dish.
