These spices are essentials in my kitchen. I enjoy using cinnamon in my oatmeal, coffee, smoothies, and milkshakes. It is also great to add to chicken recipes, especially curry chicken. Cinnamon adds a natural sweetness that complements the dimensions of flavor in your dish. Not only does it taste good, but it is known to have many health benefits.
Cinnamon is a powerful Anti-inflammatory agent. It also protects the heart, fights diabetes, protects dental health, helps prevent or cure candida, and is a natural substitute for sugar.
Nutmeg is also a sweet spice that has a long list of health benefits. It has the ability to relieve pain, indigestion, strengthen cognitive function, detoxify the body, and alleviate many oral conditions. Also, nutmeg is known to reduce insomnia, increase immune system function, and prevent leukemia.
I like to add nutmeg to my coffee, tea, curry recipes, pie crusts, pie fillings, and I add to butter, and spread it on my morning toast.
Cayenne pepper is another awesome spice. The health benefits are very similar one those of nutmeg and cinnamon. I love to add it to my lemon water, hot chocolate, chocolate milk shake, green tea, and everything I cook.
